Living the past

Where do I start since right now there is about a billion things going on in my head and I don't even know where to start, but I feel like I need to start some where....

so here it goes . . .

I'm a person who does not like change, I am a person who does not want anything to change and as hard as it might be I know deep inside things change... People come and people go... for every beginning there is an end....
now why am I say this???

Well a friend brings up my profile picture on my FaceBook and starts asking questions. And I'm sure not everyone knows why I have that photo up as my profile picture. Well here are my reasons:
  • candle is for my grandmother who passed away at the age of 98
  • the ARCA in the back is a reminder that no matter what I will always be an ARCA regardless what ever someone might think or say.
  • and lass regardless what ever happens my family will always be there for me.

ARCA

But I can honestly say that i still can't accept that she has passed and I understand that everyone has their time. But I really din't want to see her go... and I just don't like to think about it, because every time it comes up I always break down in tears. I just. . .
I just really miss her...
lil by lil I know time will pass and I will accept it but as of right now its a burden in my hear that i choose to keep...

Now in the upside, I had a really really great weekend... from having lunch with old co workers to shopping on Weds, bowling Thursday. then hanging out with Korina and clubbing with friends on Friday, then celebrating Kathies Birthday and hanging out all day then having lobster dinner with some wine and movie dinner at my house with the BFFs and then business meeting and being lazy on Sunday.
But then complications before the week even starts.

Things are suppose to be simple.
Things like this should be easy.
Things like this are not suppose to happen...

Things like this all ways end up this way...
And yet it always ends up like this now...

. . .

. .

.

IF THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY....

enough said.

! ! ! BAKIT ! ! !

Nais kong malaman
Bakit ngayon ka lang dumating

NO Longer in High School

lately what i have been telling myself is that I am no longer in high school so this life of mine should have changed by now, that means responsibility and more of it. Its a part of life that everyone has to realize that will come sooner then later.

Now today was a blast from the past. Now I say this because I was invited to join my ex-coworkers for lunch which was interesting since remembering in the beginning I wasn't someone who they would consider to even be in the same room with, but then things change and well now we all are having lunch and catching up with our lives which I must say I really enjoyed.
Well while at lunch i stumble to an old friend/ friends ex friend who informed me that they might have an opening at the place she works at. Now this would be interesting but I can't get into details about that. But wish me luck in getting a job. . .
Got home played with my dog Belle and got a little tired and ended up taking a nap with her and her falling asleep on my belly was very nice. forgotten how peace full life was. . .

Now this Friday I will be joining some new and old friends at a club which should be interesting since I do not go often and honestly have not gone in some time, but a friend from out of town and high school friends want to go there for I'm giving in and planning to have a great time. So to prepare a few of us went to the mall and just shop which after we had dinner at LAZY DOG in Torrance in Del Amo. which was nice, the lamb pasta was not so bad and since we where there for Happy hour got myself a Mojito which did not taste like tooth paste... (thank god) but after that we ended up watching It's Complecated which was a good movie. Got everyone thinking and I must say it got me thinking as well but can't live life based on a movie or a show or a book and anything else. Life is life and you live it one day at a time. . . but I totally understand and get the movie... ( I'm with you there)

with that said tonight I sleep with Belle in my arms and a quote that this year I will be reminding myself...

silence
"If there is a will there is a way."

time well spent

lately I have been spending time with my Best friends, which has been great since the last few years I rarely got to see them or even talk to them. Now being the great friends they are i have been called a FLAKE which I'm still working on and when you flake on someone is now called busting a JOE ! which is fine. . . things like this is why they are my best friends, they will always be honest to be regardless if its pain full or not. which I really like.
can't ask for better friends

Bestfriend

Well talking about Friends, I am happy to say that last Sat. I got the chance to hang out with my old high school friends at a friends Birthday party, seeing friends who are married and having kids was very nice and eye opening... you know that MAN IM OLD! but was very refreshing to be reunited and be in touch with old friends...
Well this friday we are planning to hang out and hit up a bar, hope that people come out and join.

so far this year has been going great. = )

SUTTER HOME WINE NIGHT

So I am planning to have a WINE NIGHT tomorrow night with a few close friends to just start off the year to hang out and catch up. It's nothing big just wanted to gather up and have some wine, and just talk.
So the fallowing is what we are planning to serve, also got the info from online and will try to get ratings to go with it.

I can't wait = )

2008 Retro Muscat of Alexandria

Sutter Home’s Muscat of Alexandria is the perfect ending to any delicious meal. It starts with beautifully perfumed aromas of ripe, juicy peaches and bright honeysuckle. On the palate, the wine is delicately balanced with flavors of melons and stone fruit. This Muscat of Alexandria is so mouth-watering that it can be enjoyed as dessert itself!

2008 Sutter Home White Merlot
It’s a little like sneaking into an orchard on a hot summer day and popping ripe, juicy cherries and sun-plumped berries into your mouth—without getting caught. This delicious wine displays a bright, light red color, and sweet cherry and raspberry aromas. It has soft, round juicy cherry and berry flavors with structure and a full, rich texture.
A portion of the grapes went directly to press without crushing thus minimizing the extraction of color from the skins. Other lots were crushed and pressed. A ten-day cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks fully extracted the Merlo! grape's deep cherry flavors.
FOOD pairing: Serve chilled as an aperitif, or as an excellent accompaniment to picnic and barbecue fare, seafood, poultry, ham, and spicy ethnic cuisines. We enjoy a glass with fiery chicken tacos.

2008 Sutter Home Chenin Blanc
A cascade of tart apples, juicy pears, luscious peaches, and ripe melons. Eat your heart out Carmen Miranda. The wine offers an enticing aroma of fresh pear, apple and melon fruit, with bright, crisp, pear, peach and honeydew melon flavors.
To preserve and enhance its fresh, fruity character, the wine is cold-fermented, aged entirely in stainless steel tanks and finished in a semi-dry style.
FOOD pairing: Chenin Blanc is a perfect picnic wine. It's an ideal choice for salads, fruit and cheese platters, chicken dishes. Think good ol’ fashioned picnic foods like macaroni and potato salads and the gathering will be a hit.

2008 Sutter Home Moscato
Something about the sweet, creamy, peach flavor makes you feel like maybe it shouldn't pair with dessert so much as replace it. This is an extravagantly perfumed wine, with beautiful scents of creamy white peaches, rose petals, and lichee fruit. This luscious peach and honeydew melon flavors are sweet and creamy, well-balanced with good acidity and a long, lingering finish.
FOOD pairing: This superb, light-bodied dessert wine is one of America's great wine values. Enjoy it as an aperitif or dessert wine pair with fresh fruit, light cheeses, fruit tarts or sorbets (especially strawberry, peach, pear, or apple) and other light desserts. But don’t limit your food choices to desserts. Spicy dishes like Thai or Cajun entrees are well-suited with Moscato as well. Try it with some peppered fried chicken then move onto dessert.

2008 Sutter Home Merlot
Gaze at the deep red color, sip the deep cherry flavor, and think deep thoughts. Like how you wish you had a deeper glass. Our Merlot exhibits a fresh black cherry aroma, with hints of tobacco and herbal spice. Medium-bodied, with smooth texture and moderate tannins, it boasts attractive, smokey black cherry and spice flavors, excellent structure, and a long, rich finish.
FOOD pairing: This fine-value Merlot makes an excellent accompaniment to a wide range of foods, especially chicken, beef, lamb, game, and tomato-based pastas. We enjoy a glass of Merlot often by itself, but definitely when we feel like popping a pizza in the oven. A pie with warm tomato sauce, a fresh basil topping and a glass of merlot make a meal fit for a king.

2008 Sutter Home Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc is growing in popularity for its crisp flavor profile and easy food-friendliness. Sutter Home's Sauvignon Blanc has been praised by critics for its bright, fresh honeydew melon, grapefruit, and passion fruit aromas balanced by a pleasant grassiness that brings to mind the classic cool-climate examples of the varietal from New Zealand. Its rich, round flavors suggest melon, lime, and grapefruit finished with spice and minerals.
FOOD pairing: An extremely versatile food wine, it pairs beautifully with shellfish, broiled or pan-fried trout, snapper, sole, herb-roasted chicken, mild cheeses, ethnic and vegetarian fare. Still, you can't go wrong with a fresh Caesar salad with crisp romaine lettuce and a chilled glass of Sutter Home Sauvignon Blanc. This combo is easy to prepare and easy to enjoy.

2008 Sutter Home Red
A rich blend of premium California wine, Red offers enticing flavors of delicious fresh berries and complex floral scents. Easy drinking in style, with a luscious mouth feel and natural residual grape sweetness that delivers a velvety smooth finish.
FOOD pairing: Sutter Home Red is perfect for any food occassion. Even enjoyable on its own as an aperitif, the blend of Merlot and Zinfandel lend themselves to grilled meats while the touch of Moscato will also make Sutter Home Red a great accompaniment to baked dishes, pasta and hot and spicy ethnic cuisines. We enjoy a glass with spicy-seasoned shrimp grilled on the BBQ. The spice on the shrimp and the hint of sweetness in the wine play off each other in your mouth to yield tasty results.

late timing

Today wasn't such a bad day, got to run errands and decided to hit up a friend to see if she wanted to go for a sunset outing so that I can try to practice on my sunsets since it has been some time since got the chance to.
Well on the way there looking for Bluff Cove we ended up getting lost and had to stop and try to figure out what to do. So we all started to look it up with our phones (was thinking this would have been must have been easier with an I-phone, but then where is the challenge in that.) and finally figured it out but then realizing that we would never make it in time we decided to just go for it so that the next time would be a better experience.
so instead of sunset shots ended up with night shots.

so these are my failed sunset photos that turned into night shots, they are not my best shots but then again was good practice.

sitting with a glass of RED

SUTTER HOME RED

Red: For the yin, soft, silky cherries; for the yang, lightly sweet peaches. In the glass, perfectly balanced. Ohm!

Surrender to the enticing fresh berry flavors and heady peach aromas! This carefree, uncomplicated red wine brings together all the refinement of Merlot, the sensual spirit of Zinfandel and the lovely floral notes of Moscato in a most delightful and unexpected way. The rich blend of premium California wine is crafted in an easy-drinking style with a luscious mouth feel and natural residual grape sweetness that delivers a velvety smooth finish. Voluptuous and smooth, this is the kind of everyday wine that goes well with just about everything.

It is one in the morning and I am sitting here in the dinning room table while watching MY LIFE IN RUINS enjoying a glass of Red. (don't worry it is just A glass) I enjoy this for so many reasons, its a RED and has the roughness like a Merlot and sweetness with a hint of Muscato and is a nice wine to have in a nice and peace full night. And today I must say was a nice relaxing day other then when I spent 40 bucks when i really shouldn't have but then again it was needed. (won't go on details on that for now) But started my day with walking Belle which I promised myself I would try to do every morning and even if we went walking late 10am it is still considered morning. then after spent the day at LAMONICA'S NEW YORK PIZZA which is @ 1066 Gayley Ave Los Angeles, CA 90024 (310) 208-8671. Which is the closest pizza that comes close to a NEW YORK pizza, if your in town and enjoy a great pizza then check them out promise if you enjoy pizza like New York you won't be sorry you stopped here... Now after that our next plan was to go and watch the rose parade in Pasadena but with time passing by so quick we did not realize that it was already 3 PM and they have already stopped selling tickets. So we all just decided to go to Long Beach and ride our bikes and had dinner @ BLUE LOTUS in Carson. After that we called it a night and here I am typing this after the movie and one glass of RED...

Now its time for bed and in hope that tomorrow we would be able to check out the floats in Pasadena. ( HOPE TO that is...)

the NEW YEAR has started

I want to start off by wishing everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and your family, friends and loved ones.

LAST HOURS OF 2009:
So my last few hours of 2009 was spent baking and cleaning the house and preparing it for the new year. the baking wasn't so bad but the cleaning always gets to me but then again what had to be done was done.
Went to go drop off my order at then headed to my cousins house in P.V. where we where about an hour or so late and everyone was waiting on us to eat, felt bad because I did not know that they where waiting on us. But in the long run we had a great dinner with some good wine.

12:01 AND THE NEW YEAR IS HERE
Gathering up in the living room and raising up our glasses with some COOK'S CHAMPAGNE greeting and hugging everyone in sight for the new year. I'm not sure if I would have seen myself start the new year without the people in that room, it was a great turn out and had lots of fun.
Now after all that Family fun the COUSINS sat down in the dinning room table and decided to play KING ELEPHANT game (which we have not played in years and the only remembrance I have was loosing and hating the game, but then again I'm older now and should know better... Right??)
Now I'm not sure if you have ever played but its a MUST game to play... Drinking or not (I prefer drinking, it just makes things a lot more interesting.) now if you don't know how to play check out http://partygamestoplay.com/how-to-play-the-king-elephant-party-game/
now believe it or not but we started playing around 12 ish and stopped like at pass 3, I'm not complaining at all because it was SO MUCH FUN, got to see cousins drunk and take shots and at one point for a long time I was KING!!!! and that has never happened with this group before and I stayed as KING for a good amount of time ( YAY ME ) of course after some time everyone would start to gang up on me, but being a BIG BOY NOW I stood my ground and fucked up on my own... but all worth the time and drinks spent. By the end of the night we polished off a few family size wine and regular bottle wine and had a BLAST. Now after all that fun we called it a night and had a bite to eat and said our goodbye and wishing everyone a safe and blessed new year and headed home. (don't worry i dint drive home...)
Got home and greeted my Belle (Lab-Terrier mix dog) a Happy New Year and Happy Birthday.

Now looking back at last year and all the good and bad memories with family and friends and love ones, this year my goal is to focus on myself and start off with new slate. . .

HELLO 2010
HELLO TO A NEW START TO A NEW YEAR TO A NEW. . . joe
